Enable speech and the language model, then rehearse for ten minutes. Download results from the Chromebook. CPU and total RAM need Chrome’s task manager; browser memory figures are partial.

How to run a useful test
  1. Try Next, Back and Jump to a slide before loading models.
  2. Load speech, start listening, and say “computer, next slide”. Then try a topic.
  3. Load the language model. Enable “Follow my talk”, and digress into a different topic.
  4. Run the topic benchmark while listening. For Whisper, a speech ratio below 1 keeps up on average. Chrome does not expose that measurement. Watch for missed commands.
  5. For local speech modes, prepare the offline copy, disable Wi-Fi, reload, and load both models again. Chrome online speech needs internet. Rehearse with the audience window on your projector.
  6. After ten minutes, download results. Use Chrome task manager for actual total memory and CPU; record heat and battery impact separately.
